Updates to Moonfruit.com
Moonfruit's make over is well and truly in full swing and we love it! We've had a huge amount of feedback, most of it extremely positive, though there have also been some complaints about things that we've missed or moved that were more easily available in the old moonfruit.com. We really do value your feedback, as we may under-estimate how important some features are to you, or we may misunderstand how you use them - we're only human after all – so your feedback helps us put things right.
We have been listening to your requests and last Thursday (24th March) we released some updates to the new moonfruit.com that addresses some of these concerns. We also wanted to let you know what else we're looking at.
We had a fair few requests for the 'site counter' to be returned to your site dashboard on moonfruit.com so that you can quickly see how many visitors your site has had since you last looked. This is now back and updates as you flick between your different sites.

Another piece of feedback was that the forums were different and difficult to find. We'd renamed them to the mysterious 'Share and Learn' to reflect the fact that they were so community driven and a place to share and learn. But due to popular demand, we've changed this back to 'Forums' to make them easier to find and the layout should be more familiar to you all with the old categories that we had in the past.
You may have also noticed there's a profile photo option with the new forum too which is a sign of things to come. At the moment you're not able to use this, but we'll be extending moonfruit.com in the coming months to add this profile feature to make it an even more personal experience (should you wish it to be!). We'll also be looking at migrating some of the old forum content over to the new forums so that they're a bit more complete.
A few of you were finding it a little bit difficult to navigate your way around the new account functions once you were logged in. So, we've made it quicker and easier for you to use. Here's the breakdown of how this will work:
There will be an 'Account' drop-down in the top right hand corner which will give you quick access to the main account functions - Dashboard (your Moonfruit home page), Billing, Support and Domains, as well as the ability to log-out.

The 'Billing' screen will show you a history of what payments you have made and allow you to renew your package. Remember, if you are an existing customer, you will continue to pay the same prices as before, provided you don't upgrade or downgrade, and the best part is you get all of the extra benefits that come with the new packs (extra disk space and bandwidth)! Downloadable receipts are on the way soon.

A quick link to 'Support' has been added to the Account navigation to make it easier to get help. The FAQs and forums are now combined in a single knowledge base so that it is quicker and easier for you to find answers to your questions. Please search this before submitting a ticket to support as this might save you a lot of time.
We have re-introduced the 'Domain Management' option into the Account navigation. We didn't realise just how many of you were going through moonfruit.com to manage your domains, as it is also available within your sites, so we added this to the drop-down for quick and easy access. For those of you who have been having issues managing your domains via the toolbar in your site, chances are you're still using the old toolbar and therefore need to upgrade this to the new toolbar (in the 'View' menu).

As well as these changes, there are a few further bits of feedback that we will work on in line with your comments. Some customers have requested a multi-site view for the site dashboard, particularly those of you with a high volume of sites (particularly resellers). We appreciate that it might be a little tedious to scroll through all the previews to find the site you'd like to update when you have so many, so this is a feature we'll be working on in a future release.
And finally…
You've all been talking about it! YES! You guessed it... The Blog! Our new blogging feature is very nearly finished and we're pleased to say this will be out in April. We haven't got a solid date as yet. But please keep an eye on the Facebook and Twitter feeds as any news will be announced there - as well as on this blog.
Thank you to everyone who helped us test out the new Moonfruit.com in BETA - As you can see from all of the above changes and additions we’ve made, your feedback and suggestions are very important to us and as long as you continue to tell us your thoughts (no matter how brutal), we can continue to deliver a product you love to use!

Glad to see the blog isn't too far away now!!
BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG CAN'T WAIT BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG
Great to see you guys not only listened, but acted fast with your feedback! I'm always managing my domains so to see the option now on the dashboard is great! I'm really excited about the blog feature! I hate having to link to external sites for this right now.
Love, love, love moonfruit!
Great stuff. It's reassuring to see that you're always striving to make moonfruit a useable and useful tool :) I'm very glad I found your service.
Well done Moonfruit for all the new updates and for hammering out any old issues it was really hard getting use to all the changes all in one go (maybe next time give loads of notice and do some things bit by bit even previews in advance) but now the lay out is so much better really like the pull down menu and great to know can now get to domains easyier... I can not wait for the blog well done I think you lot deserve a drink in the sunshine of course non alcholic only moonfruit bits as there is work to still do haha :--)
New site is brilliant...but Please Please Please as a reseller bring back the "Copy site" function, if you want to design a couple or more templates to show a client it is so much easier then having to manually duplicate the information. And could resellers not have a single Library so we dont have to keep loading up the same repeat elements.....it would cut down on disk space for Moonfruit too.
Congratulations for a product that is out of this world...
It is sad that we could not get back extention options other than the moonfruit.com while we are building a new site
Any news on the reinstatement of .t83.net?
Hi BrightonBeachBabe, Copy Site was reintroduced two weeks back. Please check your side bar when in Edit mode. As far as having a common library to one account (across multiple sites) I think that is something we have thought about. But it's well worth the suggestion again. Thx.
Kaya and NSM, we are still to finalise whether we do re-introduce the extensions. We have posted elsewhere how you can use your own domain names to add extensions (sub-domains). But we will have an answer soon.
Everyone else, thanks for the positive remarks.
Regards,
Walt
Hi Walt,
I read your post about how we can use our own domain to add extention and I reply your that post. When I add extension it did not help me to delete moonfruit extension so it does not help me at all. What I experience once is, When one of my client searching his site .moonfruit.com extension on google rather than .com extension google update it self 2 weeks later but he understand that we use moonfruit.com and he decided to built his second site by himself when we use t83.net extension there is no way that they can understand we use moonfruit.com to built site. I hope I can explain why we insist on t83.net extension
Will we be able to have a forum like the one on Moonfruit.com?
Hi Kaya, you'll never be able to delete the moonfruit extension, but you can hide/mask it with your own domain. That said, we have not yet made a decision on this so bear with us.
Osito, we already provide a configurable Forum in the software. We are currently using a 3rd party system on moonfruit.com which allows us to deal with the volume requirements that our own customer base presents us with. Their system allows us to integrate a tailored enquiry system, forums, FAQ and Guides within one page. But forum within the software should be sufficient for most requirements.
Thanks
Walt
Hi Guys,
Great work, loving the new features, etc.
Can you have a look at the last updated 1 White widget, as it looks on when logged in to the page master edit, however when logged out and viewing it from external site viewing, its black and incorrect garbled txt?
Hi Darrel,
Yep that is known issue and we have raised a bug for it.
Thanks
Walt
hi guyz, nice work , its simply great and creative ,i love all the features provided, just one thing how do i access my £20 addword feature.
thanks
varun
Hi Varun,
If you login to moonfruit.com go to Billing then you can access or request the Voucher at the bottom of the panel. The voucher is normally available 30 days after you request it and we suggest you delay setting up your AdWords account with Google until you have your voucher available.
Walt
would like a page or two to write some documents on.
Hi Pam, when you log in, just use the Pages menu on the toolbar to add some pages. Then you can add a text box to the page and start writing.
HTH ~ Walt
Thanks moonfruit, however I need an alligning feature, at the moment I have to allign things by eye, perhaps something that allows you to select two objects and press align to left, centre or right? Or a ruler feature, allowing rulers to appear on the page?
What do you guys think?
Hi Elliot,
One of the many things we are considering with regards the edit environment. But more likely, to be looked at later in the year following e-Commerce.
Thanks for the feedback, it helps with decisions around 'what next'.
~ Walt
Hi Walt,
Any news on the bug fix for "last updated 1 - white widget"?
Cheers,
Darrel.
Hi Walt,
I notice the last update is now visable and correct, however I'm not sure if the FIX solution has created another issue, or if this is another bug that just appeared.
That being, a distortion of text across the entire site, and a slightly wider content area than the original specs of the site, could this be throwing the txt into distortion, its the same look with the txt in the menu's, and I notice the right hand side of the site is revealing a offset that isnt present when logged in, when logged in, everything looks just perfect, as normal, only viewing the site externally do these issues present themselves?
So I guess its down to this last updated bug fix?
When I click in a writing box to write in it, it doesn't do anything, I've tried more than two clicks and it just moves around. Can you help?
Hi Darrel,
Can you contact support on that one. If you can give specifics to them on the pages, the site, examples etc that would be a big help in them investigating this. It's not something we are aware of but certainly worthy of checking out.
Scotty30717, if you click on the box once, the border will change to single line, and you'll be able to move or resize the text box. Click on it twice and the border will change again adding a solid grey line around the box and you'll see the blinking cursor inserted into the box. You will then be able to edit. That's all that's needed.
Walt
Hi Walt,
I sent the bug report requests in as I've found the fuzzy/blurred txt issue on all my sites, and after looking at the main portal for moonfruit and all other other sites of others on show, I noticed this fuzzy/blurring is to be seen on all, look at any body txt on any site (when logged out) when logged it, its perfect, its like a fuzzy mask is over layed externally?
Look at comma's to spot it profoundly, where logged in their crystal clear, clean cut, when logged out their so fuzzy their just a blurr.
So this is on the entire content visual imaging of a site.
I'm sure your guys will sort it out ASAP,
Cheers,
Darrel.
Thanks Darrel,
One quick question. What version of Flash Player are you running?
Thanks,
Walt
Hi Walt,
I've Flash Player version 10,3,181,14 installed.
Thanks,
Darrel.
Thanks Darrel,
I'll pass this on to the Dev team to investigate although I've also seen your ticket (#113850) which Antoine is dealing with so I'm sure he'll also provide feedback to the Dev team and let you know of any further developments. Thanks for the info.
Walt
I am being hacked by a website called hackawebsite.com and they keep on writing on my pages.I have changed my password but it's still happening! They have been writing things like(YOUR WEBSITE CONTINUES TO BE HACKED BY HACKAWEBSITE.COM-HA HA HA HA HA)and I'm starting to think it is a bug.
Again iv'e been hacked,a few minutes after I sent that message at 16:01 I thought I'd click revert to last save to see if that helped and the hackers changed what I wrote as *Remember membership is completely free*to*Remember membership is about £25-get your credit card out*.Please don't tell me to go to the contact us page because im on the free version.Oh and it is getting a bit annoying that I can't contact you if I have a problem.Im sure im not the only one that's said that.Anyway please could you help.
For a 3rd time iv'e been hacked-This time it made nearly everything black on my homepage and swapped things on my what's hot what's not page. They also wrote wrong things on my website. But they haven't done anything in the last 10 minutes. Can you please keep on checking it to see if they hack me? Then contact me if or when they do.
Hi Scotty30717, hacking is highly unlikely. More probable is someone has got access to your username and password and begun editing your site. They have also left the site open on their computer to allow continued access so changing the password wouldn't have any affect unless they logged out.
That said I've spoken to our Sys Admin and he'll kill the session so you and whoever currently has access will be forced to login again. This should have an immediate impact on the other party. Although I also note that you have 11 Administrators who all have editing rights. How sure are you of their logins not being compromised?
I'll let you know when it's done but it should be within the next 15-20 minutes. But if the unwanted text editing continues I'd suggest you contact your Admins and discuss this with them.
Thanks
Walt
NB. Update: Session killed and details on which of your Admins were doing some heavy editing on the home pages (besides you) is in an email on its way to you. Be gentle with them now as it may not necessarily have been them at all - they may have left their session open or logins available by mistake.
Thanks
I wish you would make personal profiles within the people's website, so that they can add each other as friend's, leave messages and find information about them.
But overall Moonfruit is the best web hosting site!
Thanks.
My moonfruit website, homepage (only) appears like it is continually loading and my mouse pointer is flashing, making it impossible to use search window on browser, it only happens on my home page and not on any others. Anybody got any ideas. Thanks
Hi,
Have you sent a ticket through to Support about this? We'll normally need a bit more information in order to look into this, and Support are best placed for that.
HTH,
Gary
