New Release 17 August 2011
Hurrah it's release time again! Now hold your horses, it's not the shop yet, but it is creeping slowly towards the release window poised to jump out, but not quite yet. Instead we have a few previously unannounced goodies to release to you. They are:
New File Manager
The new File Manager brings file management on Moonfruit into the new decade! All your files (and ours) are now displayed in thumbnail or list view for easy review and navigation. List view allows you to sort by name, size, upload date and file type. You can also reduce or increase the size of the file manager window to see more or fewer of your files in one go. The upload process has been simplified with more feedback on progress of individual files, and you can now drag files between folders more quickly and easily.

Getty images
Those amongst you with eagle eyes may have noticed the Getty name on our partners page some weeks ago, but we've now added a bunch of Getty images directly into our File Manager for you to use within your site. Initially there are 350 to choose from in the 'Getty' folder in the Library, but we'll be adding more as we go. Getty images are a great way of adding high quality photography to your site which can really make it look fantastic. These images are only available to subscribers, so that's another reason to upgrade ;-)

New templates
We've also added 5 new blog templates, as well as adding the blog to a bunch of the old templates, so there are now 30 blog starting points to choose from in the Moonfruit template wall! The 5 new templates look a little like this.

And that's about it for now. Let us know if you spot any unusual behaviour and as always we welcome your feedback!

nice! I already love the new file manager, much easier and if I'm not mistaken a lot faster. Thanks, looking forward to other updates :D
I like new file manager looks more professional and faster. Getty images are great tools for web desgners. I hope you enhance your getty images library in the future

Awesome update! - Can you add a search feature so I can search through my files?
Also since on the topic of search - will SM ever get a native search tool for sites (instead of using google's option which is not too good)?
But Great update.
Fantastic work Moonfruit!! love the new file manager and also the Getty Images look great.
The update has stopped my ads working that go through an affiliate site, please sort it out!
Hi all,
Thanks for the feedback - it's good to hear that the File Manager has gone down well.
Maddy and Kaela - Google will need to index your site before it shows in results. If you have a read through the SEO Guide in the Help section, you will find tips on how to do this.
mobilephonenerd - Have you submitted a ticket to Support for this? None of the updates released this week should've affected the visibility of affiliate ads.
HTH,
Gary
Is the upgrade the reason my website is not displaying correctly any more? I've worked hard on it and now it looks a mess. Half of it disappears off the edge of the page and the items on pages are 'scattered to the four winds' . . . and, yes Gary, I have taken out a ticket!
Did forget to say . . . I LOVE the option of having the images as individual pop-ups now!! Thanks for that!
Hi D-A-D,
I found your ticket and responded. I doubt the upgrade would have moved your pages or the objects on the pages. We simply upgraded the File Manager - which is how you manage your files - not how you edit your pages. But if you can answer my questions in the ticket we'll see what we can do for you.
Regards,
Walt
i hope people will visit my site i broke my arm by the way
hope you join
regards

Hi,
Great changes to the new file manager, even though I had just created a guide for someone using the old style which I will now have to change
Keep it coming :-)
When more NEW tools and utilities for OLD moonfruiters??? everything to be geared to new users, new templates and changes in existing, but nothing new ... I insist on my idea not renew Moonfruit after nine years because I see no new tools. Is not the first time I suggest and I'm not the first person to suggest this to you ... Greetings and hope news NEW
Fantastic - I was delighted when I went to upload new pics -there was the new file manager. I can't tell you how much time it saves. A big thank you to the bright boys & girls at Moonfruit.

These new updates are great but I do hope you're still working on the blog. I'm finding the lack of customisation plus the fact that the "list view" shows each blog post in its entirety (which is completely pointless and results in ridiculously long pages when a 'list view' should only have the title and maybe a short description) to render the entire blog tool useless.
But fantastic work on the file manager. It's so much faster and cleaner than the old one. There's only one small bug which causes random files to freeze whilst uploading, forcing the user to cancel the upload, close the file manager and retry a few times before it will upload.
Hi Neblots,
Although we're concentrating on the Shop at the moment, we will be returning to the Blog once it is out - this should be within the next month or so.
It is possible to shorten what is displayed on the Blog page - if you choose Article as the post type, you can enter a 'Read more' break into the post at any point.

Gary
